This past weekend, November 7-8, was the 4th Annual Skate the Cape Shred Festival hosted by Rob Wheeler of Faceplant Boardriders and WheelRZ Wheels. This event truly is a longboard festival bringing riders together from all over to compete in numerous fun events and camp out right on the scene in the Cape Henlopen State Park, Delaware where the event is held. By far one of the most fun events of the year and also the last stop on the Mid-Atlantic Longboard Series.
This year we saw some light rain on Day 1 (Race Day), but that didn't stop riders from pushing it beyond their limits and also made for a great crowd pleaser in "crash corner". The Downhill Event, Small Wheelbase Race, and Enduro Push Race all took place Saturday. Most riders camped out and had a great time in teh park Saturday night and were amped and ready for Day 2's events starting with Slalom then going into the Slide Jams, Boardercross Race, and Big Air Event.
