Calling all Skateboarders, Surfers and Board-riding enthusiasts! Skate the Cape is back at Cape Henlopen State Park for the 7th time this November 1-3, 2019. Riders from all over the East Coast and even CA & CO come to this event because of the fun competitions, positive vibes and beautiful historic venue. No one will want to miss this year's event since we have live music each night from Timmy B and Patty C as well as cash prizes for the Downhill Race and Pro Invitational Slide Jam.

"I grew up learning to longboard and surf at Cape Henlopen, it's still one of my favorite places to ride and I am so stoked to be coming back to host this event!" - Rob Wheeler, Event Host and Owner of Faceplant Boardriders

This year, for the first time we are starting out Friday as a Surf Day! Come early, setup camp at the Faceplant VIP campsite and then head the Herring Point (in Cape Henlopen) for a surf session! We will have Handboards, Surfboards and Skim Boards to demo, just bring a wetsuit!

Saturday starts off with one of the main events, Downhill Racing, where 4 riders race from the top of the Great Dune Lookout, around the 100 degree crash corner right turn and down the bike path to the finish. Setup a chair on the edge of the turn and enjoy the show! We will have music playing and food available from Taco Reho Food Truck. Next, is the old school Slalom Race where riders go head to head as they weave in and out of cones as they pickup speed downhill. This event is a tribute to the roots of skateboarding and is a rider favorite. Last event of Saturday is the 2.9 mile Enduro Push Race where all the riders race at once around the entire bike loop of Cape Henlopen State Park. Riders will face uphills, downhills, sand traps, pine needles and deadly road cracks! After Saturday’s events wrap up, join us at the Faceplant VIP campsite Saturday night for live music by NJ longboarder Timmy B and Patty C!

Sunday is freestyle day! We start off with the Amateur Slide Jam where beginners and novice riders can show their style with downhill slides and big airs. The Winner of this Slide Jam will get a wildcard entry into the Pro Invitational Slide Jam where they could win cash! The next event is the Flatland Freestyle Competition which is a brand new event! We setup ramps, hippie jumps and rails on the top flat section of the hill. Riders have a 30 minute jam session to impress the crowd and judges with their fancy footwork. This event will be very easy and enjoyable to watch! During this event, grab some food from Zoggs Bar Food Truck!

After that is the main event, Pro Invitational Slide Jam. Riders from all over the USA are invited to this event because of their past performances at Faceplant Boardriders events. Grab a seat and enjoy the show because these guys are going to light up the hill with huge slide, big airs and tons of style.

"I am so pumped for the Pro Invitational Slide Jam because it's the first of its kind! I am bringing the best "slide jam" longboarders to a great venue and in a fun, laid back "jam" session format that will promote great riding. A cash prize always help motivate them too!" - Rob Wheeler, Event Host
