The event that almost didn't happen was a huge success this past weekend with over 50 riders racing down the long scenic Kings Gap Road. Heats of 6 riders charged downhill while negotiating slippery road conditions early in the morning which took out many competitors. The top 3 riders from each race would move onto the next round. The 3rd annual RIp the Elwood Longboard Competition was another successful event for Faceplant Boardriders and WheelRZ. The day was packed full of events adding Boarder Cross and Slalom Racing into the schedule. We had 54 registered riders come out and Rip the ELwood! Thank you to all the riders and parents for coming out and supporting the event and a big thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen. 2014 was the inaugural year for the Mid Atlantic Freeride Series. Riders had to compete thorughout the longboarding season in 4 Freeride Events while placing in the Top 10 to accumulate points. After the final event (Skate the Cape 3), the top 3 in each division were announced and rewarded with the Progressive Cash Purse! Congratulations to our 1st Mid Atlantic Freeride Series Winners!
